Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Gamer Nexus ("we", "us") covering your use of the Gamer Nexus app and website. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use Gamer Nexus.

1. Who can use Gamer Nexus

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to consent to data processing where you live. You need an account to use the service, and you create one by signing in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping access to that sign-in provider secure.

One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone, and do not use someone else's account.

2. Acceptable use

Gamer Nexus exists so people can find each other and play games together. Do not use it to:

• Harass, threaten, bully, or stalk anyone
• Post hateful, sexually explicit, or violent content, or anything targeting a person or group based on who they are
• Spam, scam, phish, or advertise without our permission
• Share content you do not have the rights to share
• Cheat, exploit, or coordinate cheating in games organized through the service
• Share other people's private information without their consent
• Scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service
• Circumvent a block, a ban, or any safety feature

3. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you post - messages, match descriptions, notes, feedback, and your profile. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely to operate and improve the service. That license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we are required to retain by law or that were already shared with other users.

You are responsible for your content, and you confirm you have the right to post it.

4. Moderation and enforcement

We can remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, that put other users at risk, or that expose us to legal liability. Where it is practical and appropriate we will tell you why, but we may act immediately in serious cases. You can report other users, matches, posts, and messages from inside the app, and we review those reports.

You may stop using Gamer Nexus at any time and delete your account from Settings › Delete account.

5. Premium subscriptions

Gamer Nexus is free to use. An optional Premium subscription unlocks additional features. Billing works like this:

• Subscriptions are sold and billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, under their terms, not ours. We never handle your payment details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
• Cancel through your store account - App Store settings on iOS, or Play Store subscriptions on Android. We cannot cancel it for you, and deleting your Gamer Nexus account does not cancel it.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies.
• A free trial, where offered, converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
• We may change Premium pricing or features. We will give you notice before a price change affects a renewal.

6. Linked gaming accounts

You can optionally link Steam and Xbox accounts, or enter handles for other platforms. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Epic Games, or Electronic Arts. Those services have their own terms, and they can change or withdraw access to their data at any time, which may break the feature. Handles you enter by hand are not verified.

7. Game information

Game titles, artwork, descriptions, release dates, and related metadata come from IGDB and other third-party sources. It may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Trademarks and cover art belong to their respective owners, and their appearance in Gamer Nexus does not imply any affiliation.

We provide Gamer Nexus on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, and we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Scheduled matches, tournaments, reminders, and notifications depend on systems outside our control and may be delayed or fail to arrive.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or lost opportunities. Our total liability for any claim relating to Gamer Nexus is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five US dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will update the date above and notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Gamer Nexus after that means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the courts located there. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory laws in your country of residence.

14. Apple App Store

If you downloaded Gamer Nexus from the App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance. Apple is not responsible for any product claims or third-party intellectual property claims relating to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
