Join the closed beta
Gamer Nexus is in pre-release testing, a closed beta on Android and iPhone ahead of public launch. If you want to help us shake it out before then, jump in below.
On iPhone or iPad you can install straight away through TestFlight. On Android you apply by email and we add you to the tester list.
Rather use the mail app on your device? Open the same pre-filled message in your email app for Android or for iPhone and iPad.
The iPhone button opens TestFlight to install, so no application is needed. Prefer we add you by hand? Email us instead.
What happens next
- iPhone or iPad: tap the TestFlight button, install Apple’s TestFlight app if you do not already have it, then install Gamer Nexus from there. You are in right away.
- Android: send the email above and we add your Google account to the tester list, then reply with a link to install through Google Play. It can take a day or two.
- Testing is free, and you can leave any time.
Android testers, one small favour. Please try to stay opted in for at least 14 days after you join. Google requires 12 testers active for 14 continuous days before we are allowed to launch to everyone, so every day you stay in genuinely helps us get to release. You are welcome to leave the moment we go live, and thank you for helping us get there.
Android, which email do we need? It has to be the Google account signed in to the Play Store on your phone; that is the one Google checks against the tester list. Sending from that same account is the easiest way to get it right. iPhone and iPad testers do not need to send anything, because TestFlight handles it.
What you are testing
The app is feature-complete for v1.1: scheduling matches and tournaments, chat, your library across every platform, Steam and Xbox integration, and a news feed tuned to the games you own. The features page lists all of it, and the release notes say what changed in the last few builds.
Premium is live in testing too, through the store sandbox. You will not be charged for a sandbox purchase, and we would genuinely like people to try it so we find out where it is confusing.
Trouble getting in?
If a link does nothing at all when you tap it, that is usually your browser having no email app set up to hand it to; it fails silently rather than telling you. Nothing is wrong on your end, and you can just send the message yourself:

- Subject: Gamer Nexus closed test - Android (or iOS)
- Tell us: on Android, the Google account email signed in to your Play Store, plus your device and Android version. On iPhone or iPad, the Apple ID email for the TestFlight invite.
We only use your details to run the beta: inviting you and sending the occasional testing update. Nothing is shared with anyone, and we remove it when the beta ends or whenever you ask. See our privacy policy for the full picture.
